PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES
This program offers opportunity for senior-level managers to acquire expert insights, explore leadership & general management concepts, and examine actionable strategies for building the kind of leadership and general manager to enable employees and the organization to sustainedly deliver their optimum performance. This Advanced Leadership & General Management program also aims to provide participants with the ideas, frameworks, and tools required to create an environment and culture in which individuals feel compelled to innovate and contribute to a transforming work environment.
PROGRAM CONTENT
Day 1
Transition to General Management
Although you will already have achieved success as a functional expert, stepping up to general management can be a difficult and potentially risky transition. In this part of the program, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for a transition to general management.
Day 2
Strategic Planning
The principles of strategic management, formulation of vision, mission, core values, objectives, external & internal situation analyses, pinpointing KSF-s & SWOT, pinpointing & evaluating strategy options, choosing the strategy, preparing the strategic courses of action. Cases & exercises
Day 3
Organization Development
The principles of OD, organization culture, organization structures, job descriptions, job performance standards and job competency profiles, personnel composition, quantities & competencies. Cases & exercises
Day 4
Talent Management
Hiring the right people, selection interview technique, developing people, managing people performance. Cases & exercises.
Day 5, 6 & 7
Leading Towards Optimum Performance
Contemporary leadership theories, managing self, communicating & motivating people, creating high performance team, managing conflicts. Cases & exercises
Day 8
Problem Solving & Decision Making
Problem definition, root cause analysis, identifying optional solutions, finding & deciding the right solution, plan to implement the decision. Cases & exercises.
Day 9
Managing Finances
The principles of effective finance management, preparing strategic & operational budgets, budget control, capital investment management. Cases & exercises
Day 10
Managing Change & Transition
Change Triggers, Change Objectives, Change Strategies, Leading the Change efforts, Cases & Exercises.
LEARNING METHODOLOGY
A proper mix of short lectures, Q&A, sharing, discussions, individual & group exercises and cases. The training will be divided into two parts; the first part (day 1 up to day 5) and the second section (day 6 up to day 10). In between, one day will be reserved for outdoor group action activities and one free day.
